Welsh Government’s proposed new curriculum is due to start in 2022.

On Friday 25th October 2019 Welsh Government published a summary of the feedback they have had from teachers, organisations, groups, parents, academics, and young people about proposed new curriculum.

A number of themes came from this in the Minister’s statement. These were:

  1. The guidance should be simplified
  2. The guidance would benefit from greater depth and detail in certain places

Suzy Davies, Welsh Conservative Shadow Education Minister, said: “This is by no means the end of this.

“Now that the consultation responses are in I expect Welsh Government to look at them and respond to make sure that the new curriculum is fit for purpose.”

Mrs Davies continued: “As both the Shadow Education Minister and a member of the Assembly’s Children, Education, and Young People Committee I have been scrutinising what the Education Minister has done as she has developed this proposed new curriculum.

“If anyone has any comments, views, or feedback on the consultation responses that Welsh Government have published, as well as the Minister’s statement which accompanies the responses, I would very much welcome hearing from people.”

Disgwylir i gwricwlwm newydd arfaethedig Llywodraeth Cymru ddechrau yn 2022.

Ddydd Gwener 25 Hydref 2019 cyhoeddodd Llywodraeth Cymru grynodeb o'r adborth a gawsant gan athrawon, sefydliadau, grwpiau, rhieni, academyddion a phobl ifanc am gwricwlwm newydd arfaethedig.

Daeth nifer o themâu o hyn yn natganiad y Gweinidog. Y rhain oedd:

  1. Dylai'r canllaw gael ei symleiddio
  2. Byddai'r canllawiau'n elwa o fwy o ddyfnder a manylder mewn rhai lleoedd

Dywedodd Suzy Davies, Gweinidog Addysg Cysgodol Ceidwadwyr Cymreig: “Nid dyma ddiwedd ar hyn o bell ffordd.

“Nawr bod ymatebion yr ymgynghoriad i mewn, rydw i'n disgwyl i Lywodraeth Cymru edrych arnyn nhw ac ymateb i sicrhau bod y cwricwlwm newydd yn addas at y diben.”

Parhaodd Mrs Davies: “Fel y Gweinidog Addysg Gysgodol ac aelod o Bwyllgor Plant, Addysg a Phobl Ifanc y Cynulliad, rwyf wedi bod yn craffu ar yr hyn y mae’r Gweinidog Addysg wedi’i wneud wrth iddi ddatblygu’r cwricwlwm newydd arfaethedig hwn.

“Os oes gan unrhyw un unrhyw sylwadau, barn, neu adborth ar ymatebion yr ymgynghoriad y mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi’u cyhoeddi, yn ogystal â datganiad y Gweinidog sy’n cyd-fynd â’r ymatebion, byddwn yn croesawu clywed gan bobl yn fawr iawn.”

Gallwch gysylltu â Suzy Davies i drosglwyddo'ch adborth a'ch barn trwy anfon e-bost ati YMA
