Commenting on the PISA report published today (December 3), Suzy Davies AM, Shadow Minister for Education, said: “For the Minister, this may be something of a relief, but it is anything but a reprieve.

Following the news that up to 1,000 jobs could be cut from the Tata Steel workforce across the UK, Suzy Davies, Welsh Conservative AM for South Wales West, said: “This news and the uncertainty of what it means for Wales is extremely distressing for all of the Port Talbot Tata Steel workers and their families.”

Improving exam results not “legitimate reason” to move pupils off-register | Nid gwella canlyniadau arholiadau yw “rheswm dilys” i symud disgyblion oddi ar y gofrestr

Responding to warnings from the education watchdog Estyn that some schools may be moving pupils off their registers as an “easy way” to improve exam data, Shadow Education Minister Suzy Davies has said:  “While there are a number of genuine and legitimate reasons for young people being educated outside of a school, I do not think improving a schools overall exam results is one of them.
Wrth ymateb i rybuddion gan y corff gwarchod addysg Estyn bod rhai ysgolion yn symud disgyblion oddi ar eu cofrestrau fel “ffordd hawdd” i wella data arholiadau, mae Gweinidog Addysg yr Wrthblaid, Suzy Davies, wedi dweud: “Er bod nifer o resymau dilys dros bobl ifanc cael eu haddysgu y tu allan i ysgol, nid wyf yn credu bod gwella canlyniadau arholiadau cyffredinol ysgol yn un ohonynt.
